You can find a collection of examples in the pyvhist/examples/ directory. You can start each example just by typing:
python examplename.py
(Linux, Mac OS X) or:
examplename.py
(Windows) on the commandline prompt.
Each example will create a VHIST file with the same name as the example (the VHIST file created by 10-ioblock.py is located in the data/ directory). You can examine the VHIST files with a PDF browser (e.g. Adobe Acrobat).
